These encounters can be found in every biome, including the Taiga.

You hear the faint twitter of birds somewhere nearby. You look up to the sky and watch them swooping overhead. What would it feel like to fly? You find a nice comfortable spot in the shade and rest for a moment.

A dall sheep leaps across your path, too busy focusing on keeping its footing to notice you. Mutton on the menu, perhaps?
Race	You leap after the sheep, and initially it looks frantic and tries to zig zag away from you. When it realizes you don't intend to pounce and only want to run alongside it, it pushes faster. The race is on! You're fast, but you don't have nearly as much stamina as the sheep. It leaves you in the dust after only a short time, and you're left catching your breath as it disappears. Steal	You approach the bags and backpacks left a bit further from the tent. Constantly keeping an eye on the humans makes it hard to focus on your task. All of the bags are tightly closed, and it's not easy to take anything out. Fortunately, you're lucky to find some meat that's been prepared to be eaten later, but you quickly gulp it down. 	An amazing scent lures you to the bags left under the tree, and you don't even need to double-check the contents. One of the bags is not closed, but when you shove your nose in, it makes a truly annoying, rustling sound. The humans stop talking, leaving you only enough time to grab the first thing you have under your nose and run away.	+2 HP
	It's not safe here, so you decide to steal one of the unsupervised bags and check it out elsewhere. You take the smallest one, believing it to be light, but you discover it feels like it's filled with stones. Trotting along as if on a mission, a cross fox passes by, shooting glances at you out of the corner of its eye.
Follow	You wait for the fox to get a bit ahead before trailing after it. Foxes are known to stash things for later--maybe you'll get lucky! Sure enough, it's checking on its stash. You wait for it to leave and quickly dig up the carcass. It's fresh, too!	+1 Mink Carcass
	Following the fox isn't easy and you lose sight of it a few times, but you keep at it. Surely it will stop soon? But the further you trek the more you realize that it's not stopping soon. 	The fox notices you following, and turns to growl in warning. When you don't back off, it darts in to bite at the soft flesh of your belly. With a snarl you chase it off, but the damage is done. Bastard!	-2 HP

Join for a hunt	Hunting together is bound to be plentiful! The fox agrees, and you track a flock of swans to the nearby water source. Before you can hatch a plan, the fox leaps towards the birds, dispatches one, and scampers off without a backward glance. The swans fly off, leaving you with only a couple of feathers for your efforts. Not fair!	+2 Swan Feathers
	You approach the fox and ask if it wants to hunt. Hesitant at first, it finally agrees and you trot together to a nearby water source. A flock of swans sit on the bank, and you come at them from both sides. It's easy enough for you to nab one, and the fox is able to snatch a fledgling. A striking red-necked grebe lands in the nearby water, fluffing its feathers as it glides across the glass-like surface.

	Finding the nest shouldn't be difficult if you follow your nose. It leads you along the shore to a more secluded area and you find the nest you were hoping for. It's empty now, but you manage to find some grubs digging around in the soft dirt. Slimy... yet satisfying.	+2 HP

A distinctive little thrush perches on a branch, preening and looking around from time to time. It doesn't have a care in the world! You wouldn't either if you stayed up high enough that no one could reach you.
