From Grouse House Wiki

Since Grouse House Wiki isn't affiliated with Wolvden staff, much of the information available is crowd-sourced. We'd love to hear from you about any errors you've found, missing information you've collected, or anything else that you think we should know.

Here, we'll answer the most common questions about contributing to the wiki and then provide links to where you can submit your contributions.

Missing Information

Missing Information

While browsing the wiki, you may come across some sections that are incomplete. Some of this incomplete information is known about, but some of it flies under our radar. Where possible, we mark missing information with the Missing Information tag, so you can search a page for those keywords to find where you might want to look if you're seeking to contribute.

You're welcome to submit information belonging in places marked with those Missing Information tags, or information missing from any other parts of the wiki. If you're not sure if something is actually missing, feel free to submit a contribution anyways, and we'll review it to decide if it needs to be added!

Information frequently missing from the wiki includes, but is not limited to, explore encounter results, battle opponent drops and attributes, recipes, and event story chunks.

Incorrect Information

Incorrect Information

We apologize if you find information on the wiki which is incorrect. While any community contributions are fielded as best we can, without admin input we are unable to confirm some information provided. In addition, this wiki has been built up over time since Wolvden's closed beta testing, and some incorrect and outdated information can slip through the cracks.

That being said, we greatly appreciate any corrections to incorrect information, whether that be wrong explore encounter results, typos, or anything else!

Suggestions

Suggestions

We would like for Grouse House Wiki to be as useful as possible, so we would love to hear your suggestions for how we can improve it! Feel free to suggest new pages or page sections, changes to page layouts, or reformatting possibilities.

What is recommended to make a contribution?

What is recommended to make a contribution?

With how much information we receive, we have some suggestions and guidelines to make your contribution as effective as possible. We ask that you keep in mind that your contribution may not be able to be added to the wiki if sufficient information is not provided.

Evidence

Evidence

When gathering information about any aspect of the game, evidence is the most important resource we can have! While we'd love to trust everyone's word on what they've encountered in-game, we recognize that situations are sometimes misinterpreted, misread, or misrepresented. Due to this, some form of evidence is required in most cases when submitting a contribution to the wiki.

Evidence should ideally come in the form of a screenshot of the event occurring, such as a screenshot of an explore encounter, story segment, or battle. If a screenshot is not possible, copy and pasted user log entries are also very appreciated.

Details

Details

When in doubt, include as many details as you can. We want to hear about exactly how you obtained the information you're contributing-don't be shy about sharing details which might be irrelevant! For explore or battle encounters, this could include the time of day, weather, or season, the biome you were exploring in, or your wolf's level. If you're not sure about exactly what to share, we've provided some recommendations for common contributions below.

Explore Encounters

  • Time of day, season, and weather on Wolvden
  • Biome you were exploring in
  • All text and options you saw in the encounter
  • Typos as they exist in the game
  • A link to the encounter's image if applicable and possible
  • A screenshot of the encounter

Copy and Pasted Text

Copy and Pasted Text

Wolvden is a very text-heavy game, and typing each block of text by hand is difficult on our editors' hands and slows down our ability to update the wiki. If you are submitting information which includes a lot of text, we would love if you could copy and paste the text directly from the game to share with us, so we can then do the same for the wiki. If you missed the opportunity to copy and paste, transcribing the text yourself is always appreciated, but we encourage that you double check to ensure that there are no typos in your transcription. We understand that it is not possible for everyone to complete these recommendations, so we are happy to accept contributions without copied or transcribed text if necessary.

Images and Links

Images and Links

When submitted information that includes an image, like an explore encounter or image panel, that is not already included on the wiki, we greatly appreciate a direct link to the image if you are able to retrieve it. For some parts of the game, obtaining this link is as easy as right-clicking on the image, but in other areas like Explore obtaining the link might require you to visit the page source. You will be able to tell that you've obtained a direct link to the image if the link ends in .png. We understand that this recommendation is not always achievable, so if a link is not possible we encourage you copy and paste the image directly or just provide a clear screenshot along with a user log entry if applicable.
