The loud, sharp noise of fighting foxes is something that you simply have to check out. There is a high chance of grabbing a free snack but the sight is different than you expected. The foxes are fighting over something that looks like a useless toy made of sticks. You don't even have to snarl at them to scare them away. The sticks that make up the small figure are tied together in a strange manner. Typical humans, creating silly things that have no use. The shape itself loosely resembles a human too. This alone makes the object more interesting.

The black, shadowy shape looks like an ordinary wolf at first, but you can sense that something is not right. It has abnormally long teeth and reddish saliva, resembling both blood and lava at the same time. Despite its scary appearance, you have the overwhelming feeling that it's suffering.
Try to scare it away	You bare your teeth, trying to look as intimidating as possible. You're sure that the wolf can smell your fear, but to your surprise, the intimidation strategy works flawlessly. The demonic wolf takes a step back and loses interest in you. Now is your chance to flee!	+2 ME
	You let out a low growl, taking a step forward. While you appear confident and strong, the demonic wolf senses your fear and calls you on your bluff. A reddish spot in the air looks like an ember, but when you focus on it, you notice it's a butterfly. While its appearance is distorted, it looks oddly... pretty.
Follow	You feel a bit mesmerised by the wings, seemingly staring at you and enticing to follow the butterfly. You follow, cautiously, until you find a dead animal. Yikes!	+1 ME +1 Random Medium Carcass
Catch	You are curious about this insect! It would be awesome to study it closer, maybe even dry it up and hang it in your den? You try to catch it, but as soon as your jaws land on its wings, it dissolves into the air. The taste is incredibly bitter, but you actually feel a bit refreshed!	+1 ME +3 HP
	This butterfly would look amazing in your collection of dried insects! You run after it and try to grab it, but your jaw locks on the odd misty trail it leaves in its wake as it disappears. It's disgusting and leaves a weird, tingling feeling in your mouth.	+2 ME -3 HP

From a distance, the body of this small fox cub appears to be a carcass. As you approach, you uncover the horrible truth—it's still alive, but barely breathing. Demonic growths have contorted its body in a painful manner, leaving it almost unable to move.

A shape resembling a bear is sitting in the middle of your path, struggling to move. Usually you'd ignore it or perhaps even make a meal of it, but this is no ordinary bear. Its jaws are distorted and full of twisted, long teeth, preventing it from properly closing its mouth. It's on the verge of dying, and you are likely witnessing its last moments.
Ask what happened	You're intrigued more than scared. If it's not a demonic being, then something changed the bear into this miserable creature. It could happen to you, too. When you ask the bear about its situation, it stares back at you with its eyes full of pain. It tries to speak but its words remain an incomprehensible murmur. Then, in a sudden and unexpected burst of strength, the creature lunges at you with a thunderous roar, delivering a painful bite. You manage to escape, but is its condition contagious? It's probably best to get the bite treated by your herbalist.	+2 ME -2 HP

Your anger grows with time, reaching the point where you jump after the bat with a snarl. While he looks a bit tired, his cubs are more than eager to trick or treat with you, trying to appear scary with their costumes. However, no matter what they do, they are just incredibly cute.
Trick	You don't have anything to offer but you still want to play with the cubs, so you pretend to be deathly afraid of them. The cubs waste no time, and their 'trick' turns out to be quite simple. They pounce on you, knocking you down and nipping at you playfully. In that moment, you begin to understand the weariness in their father's tired eyes.	+1 ME

Follow	You manage to hide before the creature notices you. Are there more horses like this? Or is it the only one wandering around? You stumble upon a desolate field, with only the wind howling between the destroyed remains of crops. A dark, tall shadow is guarding this forgotten place. You recognize the figure as a scarecrow, but this one is different. A skeletal silhouette with a pumpkin for a head appears to follow your every step, and the grotesque grin on its face feels sentient. Did it just move?
Knock the pumpkin down	After you step sideways a few times to confirm it, there is no doubt that the scarecrow can move on its own. Your pelt prickles ominously. The pumpkin appears to be the main source of its life force so with a short bark, you jump at the creature, aiming for the head. To your surprise, it doesn't fall off, and the grin on its surface slowly changes into an expression that makes your stomach churn. You're lucky that the scarecrow is quite slow, and you can easily escape before its bony arm reaches you.	+1 ME
	Attack is the best defense; it has always worked for you, and it should work this time. You don't want to wait until this thing moves on its own again. The familiar sound of rain is usually soothing, but the bloody red drops that fall from the sky set you on edge. Though you know it's water from the smell, the crimson hue of red puddles forming on the ground is unsettling.

	The stone skull is scary enough that a lesser animal would run in fear. You're no pushover, though. When a brave wolf like you appears, nothing stays hidden for long! Two wolf silhouettes in front of you are familiar even with the costumes. As you approach, you recognize Tala and Egg, enjoying a special night together. Egg’s sides are adorned with fake spider legs, looking realistic enough to send a chill down your spine. Tala is dressed as a ghost, but it's more cute than scary, making you smile.
Trick	With a snicker, you jump at them from behind, apologizing for not having any treats for the spooky monsters. Tala laughs in delight and draws nearer, playfully whispering a silent 'boo' right into your ear! In that same instant, a sudden pinch of pain shoots through your ankle. You turn to Egg, eyes wide with surprise, but she simply shrugs it off, casually explaining that you should have expected a spider to bite.	+2 ME -1 HP
Treat	You surprise the pair by being prepared for this scenario, and give them both treats. Egg looks disappointed. She's clearly far more into tricking others than treating them, as is evidenced by her significantly smaller bag of treats. Join	When you propose the idea of going together, Tala's eyes light up and she wags her tail with excitement. On the other hand, you can practically hear Egg rolling her eyes in response. Roll	Maybe you're weird, but if it's fun who cares? You embrace your inner puppy, jumping into the pumpkins and rolling among them for so long that your fur catches all of the different smells, not to mention the messy appearance. You regret nothing!	+1 ME
Dig	You're sure there must be something interesting in such an extraordinary place. Your nose doesn't help much with the intense smell of the pumpkins, but searching is more fun than anything. Bark	You bare your teeth at first and when that doesn't work, you let out a sharp bark. Your voice is carried by the wind and echoes among the trees as if you are alone here. To your surprise, you don't feel observed anymore, and the forest feels more familiar... for now.	+2 ME
Chase	You try to remain calm, but each time a shadowy shape appears somewhere nearby, your steely demeanor crumbles. Finally you've had enough, and with a low growl, you start to chase the shadows whenever you notice one. Try to communicate with them	You aren't sure if these ghosts are spirits of the dead or the damned ones. As soon as you start to speak, all of them turn to you, as if they have only just noticed you. They don't talk back, approaching silently with their arms outstretched in your direction. They can't harm or even touch you physically, but the longer you stand there, the weaker you feel.
