A wolf is inspecting the area very carefully, sniffing every rock and every branch with visible pain in his eyes. You can almost feel the tension.
Can I help you?	The wolf doesn't seem to even notice you until you come really close. His gaze shifts away from you for a moment. "I don't know if anyone can help me. She's gone. My beloved... She's completely gone. No trace, no scent, no sign..." Before you can ask further, he's gone, nose to the ground, searching desperately for any scent. It seems, in his search, the wolf lost something along the way - but now he's too far away to give it back. You take it with you instead.	+1 SQ

A wolf hurries to get past you, carrying a strange plant in its mouth. The plant looks weird, and unlike any you've seen before.
What have you got there?	The wolf looks at you incredulously for a moment before tilting his head to better reveal the plant. It's small and green, with four egg-shaped leaves, and a mop of white fluffy petals on top. The wolf drops the herb to speak. "It's clover, obviously. Don't you know your herbs?" Bewildered by your blank expression, the wolf scoops it back up again and walks off, shaking his head as he goes. You notice a small object kicked up by the wolf's paws and tuck it away for safekeeping.	+1 SQ

A young wolf is walking alone, looking both excited and confused. His face lights up when he noticed you and it's clear that he can barely contain himself.
Tell me everything you know	"This is incredible! I thought I know this area well, all the good hunting spots and all... but something strange is happening lately." The young wolf keeps describing animals and plants you've never seen or heard of before. At some point, you're not sure if this kid is making things up or not, but his emotions seem trie. To try to convince you more, he gives you a strange thing he found next to some of the unknown plants.	+1 SQ

This wolf's behavior seems odd and you have no idea what it is but it's giving off strange vibes. He's looking around with a puzzled expression as if he were born today or completely lost.
Come closer	You approach the wolf and he is visibly relieved. "Finally! A friendly face. Where are we? What are these strange plants?" The wolf continues to chatter on, asking question after question that even a young pup would know. Maybe he wasn't from around here? Yet there's something off about him, and you can't help but wonder if there's something else going on. While he's distracted by a plant, you slip away. You come upon a wolf laying very still and staring off into the distance, appearing to be deep in thought.
Is something wrong?	"Everything is wrong. The world as we know it is changing. I've seen them... the lights. They keep appearing out of nowhere. Following me, haunting my dreams... Listen to me and escape somewhere safe. This land is cursed and it all started from this. I found that thing a couple of days ago. Do me a favor and destroy it, maybe it will change something for the better." The old wolf doesn't even let you get a word in edgeways, and pushes an object into your paws. A young wolf is cowering on the ground, its eyes white and wide with terror.
Are you okay?	"The lights... they keep following me... I can't... escape them..." The young wolf splutters her words out between gasping breaths. Before you can reply to ask more, she gets up and runs away, leaving you clueless. What lights? Oh--she left something behind. You quickly swipe it up.	+1 SQ

A lone wolf crosses your path, both lost and sad. Thinking he may know something about what's been going on, you approach him.
What happened?	"I was responsible for them... two young wolves from my pack went missing during a hunting lesson yesterday. I can't return without them." There is clear determination but no hope in his voice and you just listen in silence. You offer up some information about your journey and some possible clues that may help. The wolf gratefully gives you something he found while looking for the puppies.	+1 SQ

Two curious pups are sniffing and playing around the weirdest mushrooms you've ever seen. You're no expert, but they definitely don't look edible.
Warn	You approach to warn the pups not to eat or lick the mushrooms, explaining to them that they aren't native to this land and may cause them to get sick. The pups agree not to touch them again and to inform the herbalist of their pack as soon as possible. You inspect the mushrooms yourself to be sure, and you notice a small object tucked between them.	+1 SQ

An exhausted looking wolf chances upon you, and seems relieved to see someone to talk to. He asks about his lost son who disappeared the day before.
Stop	After hearing a description and sniffing his scent, you don't have good news but you promise to contact him in case you find any trace of him. A strange, ginger rodent is sitting comfortably on the ground, minding its own business. It's definitely a squirrel but why is it so bright? And why are its ears so pointy?
Sniff it	You go a bit closer to check out this strange fur. Is it even real? Is this squirrel ill, or is it a new mutation? You want to ask this question but when you open your mouth, the squirrel escapes in fear, leaving the tiny object it was holding in its paws.	+1 SQ
Chase it	The chase was short, and soon you are devouring the squirrel, which tastes just like any other squirrel you'd eaten before. You're a bit disappointed. Before you leave, you notice a piece of dark rock on the ground. This must have been what the squirrel was playing with, and you snatch it up quickly.	+1 SQ +10% Hunger

Who are you?	As you come closer, you realise that this creature is not completely alien to you but its pattern is different to others you have seen. The creature looks at you, puzzled, and your expression is probably similar. You've seen badgers many times before - perhaps this was a new mutation? The creature in front of you is somewhat similar but larger, darker, more fluffy, and supposedly friendly. Almost cute. The badgers you know are snarling, hostile balls of ruffled fur. After a while, he leaves you with your doubts. You notice a small object on the ground. It probably belonged to the creature but you take it to inspect it later.	+1 SQ

Kill it	This creature and its harmless appearance seems weak, so you decide to try your luck and satisfy your increasing hunger. To your surprise, the strange badger turns out to be just as aggressive as the ones you know--but you win without much struggle. Tasty.	+2 Meat Chunks [Medium] -5 HP

At first, you can't identify the strange sound above your head, but then you notice an interesting bird occupied with feasting on an acorn. It's a nutcracker, focused on its meal so strongly that it doesn't notice you.
Offer Acorn*	At first, you were just observing the nutcracker in silence, wondering if it would become aware of you at any point - but it was too busy. After it finishes its acorn, you decide to offer it one of your own: which surprises the bird, encouraging it to move closer. Birds are always well-informed and they bring news from distant places, so you spend some time on some friendly chat. As you're about to leave, the bird decides to show some of its trinkets with you, returning your kind gesture.	+1 SQ +2 Grouse Feather +5 HP
Let's Chat!	Barking isn't enough; you have to jump up towards the branch to make the bird look at you. As expected, it isn't happy at first but it cheers up as soon as you start a friendly chat. When the bird's acorn falls down from the branch, you wait for it to fly away so you can snatch the prize. You genuinely enjoyed the talk, but the acorn is much more useful in the end.	+1 SQ +1 Acorn
	You have to bark two or three times to get the bird's attention. It looks annoyed at first but its playful nature eventually wins over its reluctant attitude. You talk for a while and the more time you spend together, the more talkative the bird becomes. In the end, you mostly listen, nod, and look for an excuse to leave. Eventually you manage to get away with stories buzzing in your ears that you can't wait to tell your pack.	+1 SQ +2 HP

A playful hooded crow lands nearby, holding something in its beak. It hops around playfully, trying to get your attention with its little treasure.
Attack	You observe the bird for a while, but as time passes you find its presence increasingly annoying. You snap your jaws at the crow without any warning when it hops closer and kill it with one bite. You don't feel any remorse. Serves it right for approaching a hungry wolf so carelessly.	+1 SQ +1 Crow Skull
	You tilt your head slightly, observing the bird for a while. You usually find crows and ravens funny but this one is somewhat irritating. You bark and tried to catch it, but the crow is faster. When it's finally gone, you notice it left something behind.	+2 SQ
Play	Both the crow and its little trinkets are equally interesting to you. In a playful mood, you want to take a closer look - but you are too fast and too clumsy, which scares the bird away immediately! Now you can see what the crow was playing with - it's yours now anyway.	+3 SQ
	You have some free time to spare. Bird watching can be really relaxing when you're not in the mood to eat them. The crow was playing with its shiny trinkets, showing and hiding them as you were trying to take a closer look. Finally, it revealed all three objects, throwing two of them in your direction. 	You are in the mood for a break from your travels, so you decide to pause for a bit and play with the bird. The crow jumps here and there on the branch, allowing you to look at the shiny object it holds, but not for too long. Your curiosity is growing while your patience runs thin, and you poke the crow gently, letting out an excited whine. Suddenly you feel something being placed on the top of your head. It apparently considers you cute and has left you a gift. The crow flies away in a flurry of feathers before you have the chance to thank it.	+1 SQ

A strange bird walks in front of you cautiously, inspecting the area. Its reddish plumage draws your attention. It stands out oddly in this land, and it's unlike any bird you've seen before. Its scent is also unfamiliar to your nose.
Approach	You want to take a closer look--there's something weird about this bird and you want to figure out just what it is. Unfortunately the bird sees your approach as a danger, and it flies away. You notice something falling from its feather and quickly scoop it up.	+1 SQ
Chase	At first you only wanted a closer look, but now... well, you're certainly hungry and it probably tastes like chicken. The bird may not be from around here, but it's no challenge to you.	+5% Hunger

A tall, graceful bird is standing ahead of you on one leg, relaxed and unaware of your presence. It reminds you of a heron, but the scent is wrong, and you feel uneasy as you study it.
Attack	This is a perfect moment. You manage to creep up and snatch the bird successfully before it could even spread its wings!	+1 SQ +15% Hunger OR Energy
	You decide to cautiously approach, crouching low into a stalking position. The bird's keen eyes notice you before you take more than a few steps. You follow its silhouette in the sky until it disappears, wondering where it came from. Turning back to continue on your way, you come across a small object in the dirt. You cannot tell if it's a snake, a lizard or a worm. It shows snake-like movement but is much slower and it's amusing to observe it.
Poke it	You touch the creature with your nose, making it move further away. You notice it was resting on a strange, small object and take it with you.	+1 SQ

A beautiful cat is sitting in front of you in a relaxed pose, sending you a slow blink. What a charming creature.
Play	The cat senses your playful mood and jumps down with a purring sound, touching your legs softly with its tail. It begins to play with a long, shiny feather in delight. It's a cute sight, and you decide to join in. You jump playfully, trying to be as gentle as possible, but your paws are too heavy and your body too strong for such a little creature. The cat looks incredulously at you and leaps away, observing you from a safe distance. Well, at least you tried. It left the feather behind too, and you snatch it before it can come back to get it.	+1 Magpie Feather
	The cat jumps down upon noticing you. It looks scared at first, but then you hear a soft purring sound. The cat starts to roll joyfully on the ground, playing with something. You want to join but your intimidating presence frightens the cat when you go closer. It runs away quickly, leaving its small toy behind: a small white clover! Might be useful in the future.	+1 White Clover
	You approach the cat with curiosity, sniffing its thick fur and nosing it gently. The cat sits still, clearly annoyed and waiting for you to go away. Its patience doesn't last long, and after a bit it jumps down and disappears into the bushes. You want to run after the cat, but the glint of something on the ground where the cat was sitting catches your attention.	+1 SQ

A large cat, similar to a lynx from colder regions inspects the area carefully and it looks undecided about where to go next. You would say it is a lynx but it's much large and its fur looks more golden. Familiar at the first sight, strange at second.
What are you doing here?	"You tell me." The large lynx stares at you with its piercing gaze. "What is this place? I don't recognize anything. Oh... I found this. Take it, I'm done with strange things for today. I just want to go home".	+1 SQ

You see an odd-colored horse in the distance. As you approach, it stops grazing and watches you warily. It's covered in spots and sticks out starkly against the landcape, unlike its dull-coated cousins you usually see. Where did it come from?
Approach	You approach cautiously, knowing full well that you are no match for such a large animal. It's piqued your curiosity, though, and you want to see if it's anything like the horses you're used to. When you get close enough, the animal pins its ears and raises up onto its hind end, striking out at you menacingly. You leap back, heart pounding, and it continues to paw visciously at the ground in a clear warning. Your curiosity isn't worth getting hurt! You hurry away, picking up a small gem that glints in your path.	+1 SQ
	You approach cautiously, knowing full well that you are no match for such a large animal. It's piqued your curiosity, though, and you want to see if it's anything like the horses you're used to. When you get close enough, the animal pins its ears and charges at you with a squeal. You scramble to get out of its way, but it's far quicker than you are. Your tail gets caught in its hooves and you thrash with a snarl, trying to bite at the horse's legs to get it off of you. Suddenly the weight is gone, and you launch into a run, not looking back. You can hear the hoofbeats of the horse as it pursues you, but it doesn't last long. You don't stop until you're far away. Your poor tail aches and is missing some fur, but you'll live.	-3 HP
Observe	You try to go closer to get a better look, but the horse snorts and spooks, moving even farther. Your presence is not welcome, it seems. You'll just have to watch it from afar. You stretch out comfortably, and the soothing scene of the horse grazing lulls you into sleep. A nice little wolf nap! When you wake up, the horse has moved on, but you see a small shiny gem left in its place.	+1 SQ +3% Energy
	The horse doesn't look pleased to see you, but it doesn't run, either. It stares at you for a while and when you don't move closer, it goes back to eating. You decide to sit and watch it for a while. You want to go closer, but it probably wouldn't like that. It would make a nice meal...but without your pack, you'd never have a chance. You feel refreshed after a bit, and decide to move on.	+1 SQ +2 HP

A curious young horse crosses your path, snorting in surprise at your appearance but they don't run in fear. It seems stockier than the horses you've seen and it doesn't seem to know it needs to be afraid of you. An opportunity, perhaps.
Sniff	The thought of the meal this horse would make is tempting...but as it stands there looking at you with no fear, you find yourself wondering if it would be fair. It stretches its neck out and sniffs at you, its breath hot on your face. Drawn to it, you step forward and touch your nose with its own. It makes an odd grunting noise and pulls back, as if surprised. After a moment it turns and sniffs at a nearby plant. With one last look at you it trots off, crushing the plant beneath its hooves. A familiar smell reaches your nose and you go to investigate. Vervain! This will be useful.	+1 SQ +1 Vervain
Attack	There's no time to waste; your pack is always in need of food, and you'd be foolish to pass up such an easy kill. You lunge, going for the horse's throat, and with a stroke of luck you take it by surprise. Taking it down is not without effort, but your quick thinking has worked in your favor. This will last a while!	+1 SQ +1 Horse Carcass

This scruffy horse doesn't look like much, but you find yourself fascinated by its color. Usually horses are brown, but this one is gray, not unlike many wolves you know. You wonder how it manages to camouflage itself sticking out so much. Irritated by your presence, it turns to leave.
Attack	Either the horse is dumb, or it's...really dumb. It must not see you as a threat. Sucks for the horse, doesn't it? You leap at its undefended backside and manage to grab a hold, but the horse has a trick up its sleeve. It slams onto the ground and rolls, crushing you before scrambling upright again. It takes off, and you're left gasping for air in the dirt. What the hell? There goes that meal.	+1 SQ
Follow	Your paws itch to follow, so you decide to tail the horse from a good distance away. You're far enough not to bother it, but you're able to watch and see what it does as it wanders the land. It travels with no real direction, stopping often to graze and...poop. Is this all that it does? What a boring life. After a while you decide to turn away and find something else to do. Anything is more interesting than this! Something unusual catches your attention, and you scoop it up.	+1 Wealdon Amber
	Your paws itch to follow, so you decide to tail the horse from a good distance away. You're far enough not to bother it, but you're able to watch and see what it does as it wanders the land. Surely if you go a bit farther...you decide to keep following, and eventually the horse stops, inspecting something shiny on the ground. It loses interest, and after it leaves you go to see what it is. Score!	+1 SQ

A curious pony appears to be completely devoid of fear. What's more, it's even approaching you and lowering its head in an attempt to sniff you.
Invite to Play	The elegant movements and calm aura surrounding the pony encourages you to come closer and interact. You try your best to invite the pony to play without scaring it away and it works immediately, as if it was just waiting for you to join it. You spend some time playfully chasing each other, taking care to allow each other to be caught eventually. Even though you spent this time running, you somehow feel refreshed!	+1 SQ +3% Energy
Chase	You allow the pony to approach, luring it in. You lunge once it's close enough, causing the pony to whinny in fear and attempt to flee. A good attempt, but not good enough. After successfully making the kill, you notice a bright spark on the ground.	+1 SQ +1 Horse Carcass
	You had a nice plan but your impatience and rapid movements gave away your intentions. The pony realizes the danger and rushes to flee. You didn't intend to give up but you couldn't disguise the fact that you were either too slow or too far away. There's something interesting in the ground in front of your paws, so at least you aren't leaving the place without a small reward.	+1 SQ

A shiny black stallion struts in front of you, its thick neck flexed and tail swinging agitatedly. Is it angry? Or simply showing off? You back up a few paces, unsure of its intent. Does it have a harem somewhere that it's looking to protect? It paws at the ground, and you brace yourself.
Lunge	You take action before you have the chance to get trampled. You lunge, baring your teeth and snarling. The stallion charges, but only briefly; a last-ditch attempt to make you leave. When you don't back down, it spins around and is out of your sight faster than you've ever seen any horse move. It hadn't been some illusion, had it? You sniff around, coming across a pile of poop, and determine that the black horse had in fact been real. Something shiny peeks out from the stinky pile, and with a grimace you pluck it out.	+1 SQ
	You take action before you have the chance to get trampled. You lunge, baring your teeth and snarling. The stallion charges, and you dart away, barely missing its hooves. As it races by, it snakes its head out and catches you by the scruff with its powerful jaws. Your paws drag on the ground and you wrench away. The bite stings, but maybe you'll get a cool scar out of it.	+1 SQ -2 HP
Back Away	With its size and the threat of those hooves, you decide the best thing to do is back down. It's better not to antagonize it further. You lower yourself to the ground and slink backwards, attempting to show the horse that you pose no threat. It watches you for a bit, but then seems to relax. It lowers its head to graze, facing you head on so that you are never out of its sight. You settle down to rest, waiting for it to leave before making any moves. Eventually it does, and you notice it kick something up from the ground as it heads back to its herd.	+1 SQ +1% Energy
	With its size and the threat of those hooves, you decide the best thing to do is back down. It's better not to antagonize it further. You lower yourself to the ground and slink backwards, attempting to show the horse that you pose no threat. It continues to stare you down, and you decide it's best to just leave. You quickly turn away and leave it in peace, tripping over a small gem laying on the path as you do so.	+1 SQ

A dainty, small brown horse is foraging in a patch of herbs nearby. It doesn't seem to notice you, and continues attempting to paw up the herbs and yank them up by the roots. You watch, fascinated. What would a horse need with herbs? It moves on after a short time, and you just know there's something left to find!
Forage	You forage amongst the patches of vegatation, trying to find remants of what the horse had found. It's been thoroughly stomped and torn up, but you manage to find something useful!	+2 random herbs from the following: English Marigold Elfwort Wood Betony

What started out as looking for treasure has turned into digging for the shear joy of it. You roll and give your pelt a good coating of dirt, too. The shortest, fattest little horse you've ever seen is finding different patches of dirt to roll in. Is it some sort of juvenile? It looks much different than the young you've seen alongside adult horses before. Completely ignorant of your presence, you watch as its little legs flail in the air wildly while it rolls. It finally gets to its feet and shakes out its excessively shaggy coat, fixing you with a hard stare.
Chase	This little thing doesn't look so tough! You leap forward and begin to chase it, certain you can take it down without issue. With a squeal, it spins away and gains ground fast. It's not very big, and you can't fathom how it can be so fast. It soon disappears, leaving you eating its dust. As you turn away, you come across some gems covered with dust, as if the commotion had caused them to surface.	+2 SQ
	This little thing doesn't look so tough! You leap forward and begin to chase it, certain you can take it down without issue. You get no farther than a few strides into your run when it kicks up its heels and pulls away from you much faster than it had any right to. How was it this fast, yet so stumpy? It boggles your mind. You know this place much better and you're the right one to show at least a few spots that would make great hideouts. Banish	The creature is clearly looking for a place to stay, but this is your territory! You bare your teeth and approach it slowly, raising your tail in a warning. The feline is large enough to pose competition for the prey in the area. It's better to chase it off now before it becomes too comfortable here. A boar-like creature appears in front of you with visible pain in its eyes. The things protruding from its back that you mistook for weird spikes initially turn out to be arrows as you look more closely. You can see that each step is a struggle and each breath could be its last one.

Without analyzing too much, you run after the beast and successfully manage to chase it off. You make sure to take a fancy trophy with you that the beast unearthed with its hooves. The internal battle between the urge to hunt and a pup-like curiosity doesn't last long, because the sheep panicks as soon as it notices you moving forward. Find the way back	You offer to help find the cave if he's willing to backtrack his footsteps. On the way, you express that perhaps the tunnel was longer than it seemed from the inside. Eventually, you both manage to find the entrance, but you could swear some eerie glow was flickering inside its depths, lulling you into a haze... You notice a flicker of light out of the corner of your eye and you turn to see what it is. A trail of light seems to follow this glowing wisp, flickering dimly in the dark night. You hear whispers, but can't make out what they're saying. Maybe if you get closer, you can hear them properly.	A dazzling, singular wisp appears up ahead of you. It glows brightly against the darkness of the night--so strongly it almost hurts your eyes with its stark luminosity. It glides through the air as if drifting through water, and if you're not mistaken... it appears to be motioning for you to follow it!	There's no way you could have missed the wisp ahead of you. Its intense, golden glow is mesmerising, and the way it twirls and sways through the air makes it look like it's dancing. It approaches you before backing away in several repetitive motions. Maybe it wants you to follow?	A pang of sorrow hits you out of nowhere and you're suddenly overwhelmed with sadness. You take a moment to paud, catch your breath, and organise your thoughts. A large glowing wisp snatches your attention, piercing through the darkness. It's looping slowly around in the air, as if trying to invite you.

Finally, you're lead to the front of a cave entrance - a cave you've never seen before. The inside of the cave is very cold and the silence is almost disturbing, This place feels locked from the outside world, where no sound or scent could reach it. The dust-covered floor shows no pawprints or other signs of life, and the walls and stones have strange markings etched into them. You notice the wisp in front of you, glowing and waiting.

Upon entering, you can feel a strange tension building at the back of your head. The cave is freezing cold, and so silent that the only sound you can hear-or rather, feel-is that of your own heartbeat. When your eyes adapt to the darkness, you notice strange and unknown markings carved into the stones of the cave. You cannot decipher the odd shapes and symbols.
