Personalities add a layer of character and depth to each of your wolves, granting you unique flavor text and special perks! There's 40 total personalities sorted into four different disposition categories. Personalities have an effect on multiple parts of the game, from hunting to socializing! Every wolf has a personality- your lead wolf, pack members, and puppies alike!
Personalities can pass to puppies through breeding. If you want a puppy to have a certain personality at birth, you can breed two wolves together that also have their personality. There is a 90% chance for a puppy to be born with a personality out of one of its parents' disposition, and a 10% chance for a fully random personality.

Dispositions
Wolves each have a unique personality, and each personality falls within a certain disposition. Right now, personalities don't do much for the wolves except during hunting. However, having a personality gives much more character to the wolves you find!
Dispositions are categories of personalities which play a role in how the personalities interact with each other and how you will interact with them. A wolf's disposition while you are befriending them will determine which moves are most effective, and your hunters' dispositions will influence if they will be capable of working together without conflict. When your wolves are socializing, their disposition will affect how their relationship will develop.

The table below lists every personality and the disposition it falls under.

The table below lists every personality and the disposition it falls under. During hunting, it is not the individual personality that affects wolf interactions. Rather, it is the disposition the personality belongs to. Thus, it's important to recognize which disposition each of your wolves has to best group them in hunting parties.

Personality Effects
Wolf personalities play a role in multiple aspects of the game. Your lead wolf's personality can influence everything from exploring to breeding, while pack members' personalities can play a part in hunting. It can be useful to keep an eye on your wolves' personalities to ensure that you're getting the most out of your pack.

Stats

Stats
Each personality has a defined effect on a wolf's stats, boosting two stats and lessening one other. For every wolf including your lead, depending on the personality that the wolf has (with the exception of the Neutral personality), one stat will receive a +7 point boost, one will receive a +3 point boost, and one will receive a -3 point penalty.

Since these adjustments are tied to the wolf's personality, changing their personality will change which stats are affected. They will also not be passed to puppies or included in breeding calculations. You can quickly view which stats are being affected by your wolf's personality by hovering over or clicking on the ? next to the wolf's total stats.

Each personality and its associated stat adjustments are detailed in the table below.

Lead Wolf Personality Bonuses
The personality of your lead wolf will provide a small bonus to an aspect of the game, such as breeding or exploring! While these bonuses are small, you may want to take them into consideration when choosing your lead wolf. If your lead wolf has a personality with a bonus you don't prefer, you can switch their personality with a personality changer to take advantage of a different bonus! If you're unsure of what bonus your lead wolf's personality is giving, you can quickly find out by hovering over or clicking on the ? next to their personality on their page.

The personality changers corresponding to each disposition will give your wolf a random personality in that disposition. For example, using an Aggressive Personality Changer will change your wolf's personality to a random one in the Aggressive disposition. The premium Personality Changer, costing 3 GC, will let you choose any specific personality for your wolf.

Why do Personalities Matter?
Wolf personalities don't have a huge effect on gameplay yet. However, there is one important thing to keep in mind while you are befriending and buying wolves and assigning them roles.

While hunting, some dispositions might disagree and argue with each other, which can cause hunts to fail. Hunts with arguing hunting parties can fail even if the hunting party is at 100% synergy and 100% proficiency. In order to prevent this, you want to make sure to have parties with compatible personalities. Aggressive and Friendly personalities do not get along, nor do Romantic and Stoic personalities. This means you will want to have hunting parties with either Aggressive and Romantic personalities, or Stoic and Friendly personalities.
Hunting
One of the most noticeable effects that personality will have on gameplay is in hunting. While hunting, some personality dispositions might disagree and argue with each other, which can cause hunts to fail. Hunts with arguing hunters can fail even if the hunting party is at 100% synergy and 100% proficiency, and if the given success percentage is 100%. In order to prevent this, you want to make sure to have parties with compatible personalities. Aggressive and Friendly personalities do not get along, nor do Romantic and Stoic personalities.

If your hunting party does get into a disagreement, but you're not sure which wolves caused it, you can have your hunting party evaluated by the personality snake for 50 Silver Cones, who will tell you which wolves caused the problems.

Socializing
Personality disposition is one of the determining factors in how quickly wolves' relationships will develop during socializing. Dispositions that conflict with each other will develop negative relationships while dispositions that agree with each other will develop friendships. Besides these disposition interactions, the only other factor which influences socializing is pair bonding.

Personalities can also pass to puppies through breeding. If you want a puppy to have a certain disposition at birth, you can breed two wolves together that also have their personality. There is a 90% chance for a puppy to be born with a personality out of one of its parents' groups, and a 10% chance for a fully random personality.
The results of socializing based on which dispositions are paired together are listed below.

Wolf Page Interactions
Once a day, when visiting any wolf's page (excluding nursing pups), you may randomly get a flavor text interaction with the wolf where they can show off their personality or even give you a gift! The pool of items possible to receive from these interactions includes critter carcasses and feathers. You can only get one interaction every three minutes, and one interaction per wolf per day, so check back in with your wolves often. These random interactions will also help boost the relationship between the wolf and your lead wolf.
The flavor text of random interactions depends on the wolf's personality. Each personality and associated flavor text is listed below.

Dispositions

Dispositions are categories of personalities which play a role in how the personalities interact with each other and how you will interact with them. A wolf's disposition while you are befriending them will determine which moves are most effective, and your hunters' dispositions will influence if they will be capable of working together without conflict. When your wolves are socializing, their disposition will affect how their relationship will develop.

The table below lists every personality and the disposition it falls under.

Aggressive Friendly Romantic Stoic
Arrogant Adventurous Capable Aloof
Bossy Amiable Charming Anxious
Combative Fair Confident Dishonest
Conceited Helpful Dedicated Independent
Impulsive Humble Dutiful Neutral
Malicious Lazy Imaginative Pessimistic
Obnoxious Observant Keen Quiet
Sarcastic Optimistic Precise Sneaky
Selfish Scatterbrained Reliable Sullen
Vulgar Sociable Trusting Unfriendly

For example, using an Aggressive Personality Changer will change your wolf's personality to a random one in the Aggressive disposition. The premium Personality Changer, costing 3 Gold Cones, will let you choose any specific personality for your wolf.

Personality Effects

Hunting

Socializing

The results of socializing based on which dispositions are paired together are listed below.

Wolf Page Interactions

Personality Page Interaction Flavor Text
Adventurous [Wolf] begs you for a chance to go out and explore the territory. There's so much to see!

Conceited You approach [Wolf] and try to get their attention, but they are far too busy grooming themselves to notice your presence.

Eyeing you critically, [Wolf] asks if you really expect them to get up and greet you like some peasant.

[Wolf] nudges something over to you with a sigh that tells you they’re not happy about it and would rather keep it for themselves. You're quite surprised to discover that the gift is actually useful.
Confident You approach [Wolf] and they greet you eagerly. They are confident phase of the moon will bring the pack good fortune.

[Wolf] asserts without a shred of doubt that what they have for you is exactly what you need.
Dedicated You find [Wolf] carefully inspecting every inch of their nest for bugs, failing to notice your presence.

You see [Wolf] carefully organising their belongings, paying little attention to anything else. They don’t notice you until you are close enough to press your nose into their shoulder to get their attention.

When [Wolf] brings you a gift with a confident smile, you know that they spent a considerable amount of their time picking the perfect thing. You appreciate it as much as the gift itself.
Dishonest [Wolf] smiles and gives you a textbook friendly expression, throwing a compliment in on the first sentence. It’s not genuine coming from them.

You walk up to [Wolf], eyeing them as they quickly tuck something behind their back. They wag their tail innocently.

[Wolf] offers you a gift, bragging about how precious and rare it is. You don’t believe a single word, but a gift is a gift and it's always nice to receive one.
Dutiful [Wolf] looks as if they were waiting for you and says that they're ready to help if you or any pack member need anything. Their serious expression doesn't change even when they're relaxed.

[Wolf] comes up to you and asks if there's anything you need them to do today.

[Wolf] brings you a gift, It’s a nice gesture, but when they begin explaining that giving such things makes a good pack member, you start to wonder if it’s more duty than a gesture of good will.
Fair [Wolf] sees you coming and splits their prey in half for you to share with them. How sweet

You see [Wolf] trying to unsuccessfully get a tick off their back. They ask for help, saying they’ll check you over, too!

Independent [Wolf] is stretched out in the shade, enjoying some time to themselves. They greet you cordially.

[Wolf] responds to your questions in a friendly manner, but it's clear that they enjoy their time alone.

[Wolf] notices you and starts some small talk. They don’t seem to care about your responses, instead preferring to hear themselves talk. As they ramble on, they pass something your way without pausing.
Keen [Wolf] asks about your plans for today, speaking enthusiastically about what both of you are going to do. Before you know it, they’ve included themselves and you aren't even upset. It's going to be fun.

[Wolf]'s cold nose pokes your shoulder. They proclaim that they know everywhere you’ve been today just by the way you smell!

[Wolf] brings something to you with an excited smile, saying that they can't wait to see what you do with it.
Lazy [Wolf] is laid flat out on their back, feet in the air and paws twitching. They are sound asleep.

You nudge [Wolf], who is asleep with their paw over their face. They mumble to give them another minute and go back to sleep.

[Wolf] tells you to go to their favourite spot as there is something prepared for you. When you ask why they didn’t bring it here, [Wolf] shrugs, answering that it was too much work.
Malicious You find [Wolf] antagonising a mouse. They're smushing it between their paws and when it squeaks they let it go before trapping it once again. They seem to find joy in this game.

You catch [Wolf] whispering some nasty gossip to a packmate. They notice you but don’t seem to care.

[Wolf] offers you a gift with a fake smile and you know that it's either stolen or forcefully taken from someone else.
Neutral You touch noses with [Wolf], asking how their day is. You sit together and enjoy their company for a short while.

As always, [Wolf] seems perfectly balanced. They hardly ever show strong emotions, which is calming in a way. Whenever you're overwhelmed, their presence brings a new perspective.

You spot [Wolf] relaxing with their eyes closed but they snap awake when they see you. They bring you something from their well-kept stash and say that they stumbled upon it and thought of you.
Obnoxious [Wolf] shoves their face into yours, talking loudly about their recent escapades.

[Wolf] is testing out their howling voice right in the middle of the pack. They seem oblivious to the pained expressions of the pack around them.

[Wolf] has left you a gift. You can tell it’s from them since it's all dirty, smelly, and partially destroyed. You pretend to be grateful, but it's not easy to hide your true feelings.
Observant [Wolf] offers you your favourite prey, saying they haven't seen you eat in a while. How sweet!

[Wolf] eagerly tells you about the prey they scented nearby that their packmates had missed.

[Wolf] hurries toward you with something in their mouth. They claim that it's a small gift that may come in handy. Their attention to detail is always remarkable and they seem to know your needs well.
Optimistic You confide in [Wolf] about some concerns that have been weighing on your mind. [Wolf] assures you all will be well with a comforting lick.

[Wolf] smiles cheerfully at you and asks about your day. You happily share what’s gone on so far [Wolf] tells you they’re certain the rest of your day will go great.

[Wolf] wags their tail and comes as close as they can before placing something in front of your paws. They say that they simply know it will make your day even better than it already is.
Pessimistic It seems like an ideal day, but [Wolf] is insistent that something is bound to go wrong.

As usual, every time you think you've had a bad day, [Wolf] proves it’s not so bad. According to them, theirs is always worse and they're ready to describe in detail exactly why.

[Wolf] gives you a tired smile before launching into their usual complaints. They suddenly stop to show you something among their belongings and offer it to you. They don’t want it, so it’s yours now.
Precise You're surprised that [Wolf] remembers each tiny detail and time of various events. You never focus on those things, but at least someone does!

[Wolf] informs you that they're counting the exact amount of steps it takes to get to their favourite napping spot. They don't say why, but they seem quite invested.

[Wolf] mentions that they left something for you nearby, adding that it will be quite useful. When you start to thank them, they leave without another word.
Quiet [Wolf] is curled up taking a nap. They invite you to join them.

[Wolf] doesn't speak much but you enjoy their company nonetheless. Sometimes a single expression or a simple smile tells more than words.

[Wolf] is focused on organizing some of their stuff as you approach, and they pause to take something out of their stash in silence and pass it to you. A gift! [Wolf] smiles softly before going back to the work you interrupted.
Reliable You sit with [Wolf] for a while, talking congenially. They’re always good for a nice chat.

There's nothing you couldn't talk about with [Wolf]. They seem to have great insight and ideas whenever you have any doubts.

[Wolf] stops for a chat but then admits that they have been observing you carefully lately and think they have found something that may help you in your everyday tasks. You didn't expect to receive anything from [Wolf], but they insist when you hesitate to take the gift.
Sarcastic [Wolf] comments that you haven't wanted to talk to them much lately. Wolf got your tongue?

[Wolf] remarks that they hope your day is as pleasant as you are with a smirk on their face. Is that a compliment...?

[Wolf] brings something in their mouth, placing it by your side. When you look at them with a puzzled expression, they say it's a gift for you, because they are so caring and thoughtful.
Scatterbrained With a worried look, [Wolf] asks if you've seen their favorite toy. They can't seem to remember where they left it.

[Wolf] greets you with a far away look in their eyes and you can see hundreds of thoughts dancing behind their pupils. Despite changing topics rather abruptly at least a few times, you enjoy your conversation with them.

[Wolf] sits by your side with a nervous smile and strikes up some conversation. After a while, you notice that they brought a gift and were probably waiting for the best time to give it to you, but they forgot about it during the conversation.
Selfish You watch as a packmate goes up to [Wolf] and asks for their help with something. [Wolf] refuses, saying they've got better things to do.

[Wolf] is feasting on a delicious looking bird. You want to share, but they growl as you approach and swallow it in a couple of bites. All theirs, it seems.

[Wolf] brings you a gift, commenting that it's only because they didn't need it.
Sneaky You pretend that you don't see [Wolf], who is trying to surprise you from behind. It's hard to remain serious and you end up laughing as they pounce, ruining their plan.

[Wolf] suddenly pops up beside you with a woof of excitement. Jeez! There goes your relaxed mood.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a small gift appears by your side. When you notice [Wolf] running away with a strange smirk, you realize with a smile where it came from.
Sociable [Wolf] is excited to see you and says they’ve been waiting for you to come for your play date together. What? You don't remember discussing that, but you are touched to be included.

[Wolf] wags their tail and gives you a few chin licks in greeting. They're always so happy to see you!

[Wolf] stares at you with excitement when they place a gift in front of you. They stay by your side for a while, apparently enjoying both your reaction and your presence.
Sullen [Wolf] greets you cordially, but the tone and their body language show that they don't really care to hear an answer. Or anything at all, really.

[Wolf] looks bothered by something, but when you ask them what’s wrong they just grumble and refuse to answer.

With a sigh, [Wolf] stares at you as if they are tired at the mere thought of having to interact with you. After a while of staring at you in silence, they give you something from their private stash.
Trusting In hushed tones, [Wolf] tells you their deepest, darkest secret. They know you won't tell anyone.

With a gentle smile, [Wolf] gazes upon you fondly. According to them, you're the only one they can share their innermost thoughts with.

You can see the sparks of joy in [Wolf]'s eyes when they ask you to go over to them. They have prepared a little surprise for you as a reminder that you're special to them.
Unfriendly [Wolf] ignores you when you trot up to them with a friendly greeting. Rude!

You're not sure if [Wolf] is baring their teeth at you as you approach. You blink and the snarl is gone, and they take a step back each time you try to get closer. Well, no use trying to force it.

[Wolf] just snorts when they notice you, pushing something over in your direction.
Vulgar [Wolf] is stretching and lifts their bum with their tail raised high right in your face as you walk by. Subtle!

[Wolf] aims a crude joke your way, loud enough for the entire pack to hear.

[Wolf] doesn’t usually give you gifts, and you’re leery as they grin suggestively when you take it. You really don't want to hear what, in their opinion, you can do with it.
