A striking red-necked grebe lands in the nearby water, fluffing its feathers as it glides across the glass-like surface.
Follow along the shore You track the grebe along the shore for a bit, but then your eyes are drawn to things being washed up on the shore. There's bound to be some goodies! You pick through the sticks and rocks and finally find something useful. What a pretty shell! +1 Mollusk Shell
Maybe if you stay on the shore long enough the grebe will come close enough to snatch? You pace back and forth, eventually settling on a cool patch of mud to wait the bird out. No amount of waiting does any good--the bird stubbornly stays away. Oh well. +4 HP
Find its nest There must be a nest nearby, you just have to find it! You let your nose lead you, and discover an empty nest. It's definitely used, but there are no chicks or eggs this time. You'll have to be content with a stray feather. +1 Grebe Feather
Finding the nest shouldn't be difficult if you follow your nose. It leads you along the shore to a more secluded area and you find the nest you were hoping for. It's empty now, but you manage to find some grubs digging around in the soft dirt. Slimy... yet satisfying. +2 HP
The bird has to have a nest around here somewhere. You search up and down the shore but there's nothing but mud, sticks, and more mud. It's not your lucky day today. N/A



A distinctive little thrush perches on a branch, preening and looking around from time to time. It doesn't have a care in the world! You wouldn't either if you stayed up high enough that no one could reach you.
Call up to it In the midst of its preening, the thrush kicks up something under its feet as it looks down at your furry form. It flutters down onto your nose, causing you to sneeze. A pretty little butterfly wing! +1 Butterfly Wing
The bird peers down at you curiously, its interest piqued. After a moment, it hops along the branch and disappears into a hole. Is that its nest? Something sails toward your head and lands at your paws with a soft thump. A gift! +1 Lucky Foot
With a thoughtful look, the bird settles on the branch and watches you...and watches you. You feel judged under its gaze and wait to see what it plans to do. Abruptly it flies off, leaving you looking after it in confusion. Strange...at least you got to pause for a bit and regain your strength +3 HP

Shake the tree You try and shake the tree, leaning all of your weight into it. The thrush looks startled as a large object is shaken loose and falls. Holy crap! That's the biggest pinecone you've ever seen! +1 Massive Pinecone
So much for shaking the tree--your little weight doesn't make it budge an inch. With a sigh you flop at the base of the tree for a short break under the watchful gaze of the thrush. result unconfirmed:
