Despite their size, these little accents can have a big impact on your wolf's appearance!
Skins, noses, and claws, are three different traits in your wolf's genetics, and they do not interact with each other. They are very similar in the ways they can be obtained and the ways they pass in breeding, however! Each wolf will have a set skin color, nose color, and claw color that you view on the wolf page's Looks section. These could all be different from each other, or all the same!
A wolf's Skin determines the color of their paw pads and lower eyelids. Their Nose can affect not only the nose itself, but also the fur around the wolf's mouth and whiskers. Finally, you'll see changes to the wolf's front and back claws with the Claw color.
Noses, skins, and claws can be obtained through event applicators or through breeding, but they are not separated into groups or tiers like other traits. Basic/NBW traits can be found on befriended wolves or applied using applicators from the Grove. Custom traits can be applied using the same applicators purchased for 1 GC from the Grove, named Skin, Nose, or Claw Changer. Applicator traits can only be applied using applicators purchased during events.
Skins, noses, and claws all share the same pass rates, which is why we've included them together on this page!
In breeding, each pup will have a 50% chance to get either parent's skin, nose, or claws. That is, there will be a 50% chance they will inherit their mother's nose and a 50% chance they will inherit their father's nose, and this same rate is applied to skin and claws separately as well! These pass rates apply to all skins, noses, and claws, regardless of their source.
